Clog Heroes, the Haymarket, VA Plumber for a Town Chartered in 1799

Haymarket homes get plumbing, drain and sewer help from Clog Heroes. The Virginia General Assembly chartered the Town of Haymarket in 1799 on William Skinker's land, and Skinker laid it out in 140 lots and 13 streets.

Clog Heroes handles plumbing, drains and sewer lines for Haymarket homeowners. Your technician explains what's going on, and the price is written down before the work starts.

A Courthouse Town

Haymarket was picked almost at once to host a District Court for Fairfax, Loudoun, Fauquier and Prince William counties. A courthouse, clerk's office and jail went up around 1801 on the spot where St. Paul's Church stands today.

In 1882 Haymarket became the second town in Prince William County to incorporate, and Garrett Hulfish was elected its first mayor.

Haymarket Day and the Bull Run Mountains

The town sits in Virginia's Piedmont at the base of the Bull Run Mountains, with U.S. Route 15 along its edge.

On the third Saturday of every October, Haymarket Day fills town with a 10 a.m. parade, more than 250 vendors and over 15,000 visitors. The 2026 festival falls on October 17.

The county's tourism office also points visitors to the Bull Run Mountain Conservancy, The Winery at La Grange and The Farm Brewery at Broad Run.

Silver Lake Regional Park

Silver Lake began as farmland. George and Mildred Gossom bought 220 acres off Antioch Road in 1944, then dammed Little Bull Run in the late 1950s to make the lake.

Today it is Silver Lake Regional Park, at 16198 Silver Lake Road: 230 acres around a 23-acre lake, with bank fishing, non-motorized boating and 4 miles of multipurpose trails. The park opened on October 4, 2009.

Water and Sewer in Town

Inside the town limits, water and wastewater come from the Prince William County Service Authority, known today as Prince William Water. The town is part of the utility's West-end Service Area, which also supplies water to Bull Run Mountain Estates and Evergreen Country Club.
