Once Called Rappahannock Station
Civil War military maps knew this place as Rappahannock Station, and the town's own history lists two battles fought under that name.
In 2008 Fauquier County bought 24 acres along the river at the heart of the Rappahannock Station I battlefield. A conservation easement protects it, and a park master plan was finished in 2012.
Back in town, the Remington Historic District has been on the National Register since May 5, 2005. It covers the oldest streets and a commercial center from the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Getting here is easy: U.S. Route 15 Business and U.S. Route 29 Business run right into downtown, with the main Routes 15 and 29 close by.
Town water comes from the Town of Remington, and the county water authority runs the sewer system and a 2.0 million-gallon-a-day treatment plant here.
